About This Document\} \wr
This document lists the changes that have been made to the Imagemaster R/t
software since its initial release. The most recent changes are towards the
top of the list; that is, immediately following the section heading.
Only new features, or functional changes to existing features, are
documented here; the intention of this is to direct you to areas in the
software where new functionality is available, functionality which you would
\ts i not \ts n have been directed to in previously existing documentation.
Bug fixes, on the other hand, do not (usually) affect the previously existing
documentation, rather the documentation is usually already correct but the
\ts u program\ts n \= behavior was not. If you have a concern about a
particular bug you have previously encountered (and reported, hopefully), try
the feature to see if it now works as expected. If not, \ts b report it
immediately \ts n as we cannot fix problems we are not aware of.

\{ \tc DarkBlue \ts b R/t v1.r50 : 25/March/94 \ts n \}
- New Unified File Saver - Simply set the file save type, and
Imagemaster will automatically save in that format. This
eliminates the necessity of pressing the F2 key to access
certain file types.
- The File I/O panel has been rearranged to take advantage of
the Unified File Saver. The file type is set in the \{ \ts b
Save Type \} panel. This effects all file types including Amiga,
HAM-E, and DCTV Render modes and Color Separations. The
parameters for those file types can be set in the \{ \ts b Set
Save Options \} panel.
- Imagemaster now works with pressure sensitive tablets that use a
AmigaDOS 3.0 'like' tablet.library, such as the one Accupoint
makes for AmigaDOS 2.0 . The tablet control can be turned on
using the \{ \ts b Use Tablet \} option in the Setup panel.
Imagemaster will only use the pressure sensitive data when
painting using the Freehand or Dotted Freehand area selection
modes.
- Amiga and AGA register display modes are now \{ \ts b 33 % \} faster.
- The Multiframe Sequencer has been enhanced overall including
panel layout and functionality.
- Scripts for the sequencer can now be specified using the \{ \ts b
Set \} option which will access a file requester for script
specification.
- New Trend ARexx commands which allow the user to graphically
set an ARexx parameter over time.
- trenddraw "label" xmin xmax ymin ymax ydefault "Title"
Presents trend curve to the user so that the specified
parameter can be set graphically.
- trendget "label" x - Returns the curves Y value for the
specified X.
- trendkill "label" - Deletes the specified trend curve.
- trendall "label" - Returns all the Y values along the trend
curve.
- IMR/t has a new state of the art rasterizer (invented here) which
adds the following features:
1) Enclosed spaces (such as in the shape of 'B') are now left
unfilled.
2) Shapes can now be pulled off the image edge.
3) Shapes that close because of low pixel resolutions (such as
the shape of the letter 'G') will still look 'good'.
4) It is faster and uses less memory.
- The Warp and Compose morphing panels have been re-arranged and
improved to take advantage of the new unified file saver.
- Both morphing panels now have a \{ \ts b Plastic Move \} option.
Plastic move treats the points, edges, and lines as if they were
on a stretchable sheet. This allows you to move points, edges,
and lines in an elastic fashion. There is a new control in the
\{ \ts b Display \} panel called \{ \ts b Plastic Radius \} which sets the radius of
influence for plastic moves.
- Both morphing panels now have an \{ \ts b Add Lines \} option. The Add Lines
control allows you to draw lines of control on the Start and End
images. These lines can be used instead of, or in addition to,
points and edges.
- Both morphing panels now have an \{ \ts b Intelligent Zoom \} option which
allows you to zoom areas which contain similar point groups even
if mthey are in dissimilar areas.
- The Transparency and Velocity curve selections have been changed
from using buttons to list requesters.
- Imagemaster now has a dashed black and white marquee for the
following draw modes: Freehand, Dotted Freehand, Rectangle,
Ellipse, Polygon, and IShapes. The marquee can be turned on
and off with the \{ \ts b Dotted Draw \} control in the \{ \ts b Setup \} panel.
- Improved Dome and Caricature operations which are smoother, and
can be placed of the edge of the image.
- Improved Radial Wave which is smoother, fits the aspect of the
area selected, and it can be placed off the edge of the image.
A new \{ \ts b Shading \} control has also been added.
- A new Swirl effect which creates a twisting effect.
- A new Gaussian Blur function has been added to the \{ \ts b Filters \} panel.
- The Low Pass and High Pass filters have been enhanced to perform
more correct filtering and to perform consistently at the image
edge.
- The Convolve filter has been changed so that the controls range
from -100 to 100 instead of 0 -255.
- HSV Set now selectively applies the H, S, and V components.
- The Key Color is now independent of the foreground color for the
Color Key area selection mode.
- Imagemaster now loads Color-mapped IFFs without a CMAP chunk.
- 24 bit IFF/ILBM's with an extra 1 bitplane mask are now read by
IMR/t's internal loader.
- The BlackBelt file requestor has been updated with the following
enhancements:
1) It looks even better.
2) A pattern / 'filter' box.
3) It has more room for file names and is larger over-all.
- Pen color assignments for the AmigaDOS file requestor have
been improved.
- A new help link over the IMR/t logo which returns system specific
information. This was added to aid users who contact Technical
Support and are unfamiliar with their system configuration.
- A new \{ \ts b Magnifying Glass \} pointer when zooming.
- The \{ \ts b n \} key now toggles the onion skin on and off.
- Canvas redraws after an ARexx Process, Compose or Paint operation
are now sensitive to the area affected and do not have to redraw
the whole screen.
- New ARexx commands:
- \{ \ts b trenddraw "label" xmin xmax ymin ymax ydefault "Title" \}
- \{ \ts b trendget "label" x \}
- \{ \ts b trendkill "label" \}
- \{ \ts b trendall "label" \}
- \{ \ts b 'savetype ' <typename> \}
- \{ \ts b 'save <imagenum> [fullname]'\}
- \{ \ts b 'multiscript [Open=opening] [PRE=prerender] [Post=postrender]
[close=closing]'\}
- \{ \ts b 'dome <distortion>'\}
- \{ \ts b 'caric <distortion>'\}
- \{ \ts b 'ripple <halfwaves> <amplitude> <phase> <shading>'\}
- \{ \ts b 'gaussian <radius>'\}
- \{ \ts b 'newline'\}
- \{ \ts b 'move' <x> <y>\}
- \{ \ts b 'draw' <x> <y> [pressure]\}
